Fieldays wraps up at Mystery Creek as the Chiefs take on the Brumbies.
Kia ora and welcome to the Waikato. It’s been a week brimming with activities and good vibes at Fieldays 2025.
Tim Stafford will hang up his boots and hammer after winning the prestigious Golden Pliers fencing championship final at Fieldays 2025. But as the gates close at Mystery Creek, they open at the Waikato Stadium this evening when the boots are back on for the Chiefs to host the Brumbies in this weekend’s DHL Super Rugby Pacific Semi-Final.
After a narrow loss to the Blues in last week’s quarter-final, the Chiefs are ready to shake the “lucky loser” label and deliver a statement performance in front of a roaring home crowd. https://chiefs.co.nz/news-item/protect-our-pa-gallagher-chiefs-call-on-fans-ahead-of-brumbies-semi-final/
The Brumbies beat the Hurricanes in their qualifying final last weekend, while the Chiefs just lost to the Blues in Hamilton but still advanced due to their top ranking from the regular season.
The Chiefs have lost the last two grand finals - against the Blues in Auckland in 2024 and the Crusaders in Hamilton in 2023.
Last night, the Crusaders clinched their eighth Super Rugby home final after a heart-stopping 21-14 win over the Blues in Christchurch.
The field has dwindled in one of the world’s top club rugby competitions, and the stakes have only been raised higher, as just one team remains to earn the right to play for one of the biggest prizes in the sport next weekend against the Crusaders on their home turf.
So, if any of you blokes need to find your inner balance after four days at Mystery Creek, take a break and drop into Blokes Bodyworks and experience holistic care in massage before the semi-final clash this evening.
Live well. Be well.
